Safe Streets Cinema
The Miami-Dade TPO Bicycle Fatalities and Injuries Reduction Task Force, chaired by Honorable Eric Diaz-Padron, successfully hosted the 2026 Safe Streets Cinema for, emceed by Javier A. Betancourt, Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust Executive Director. The event focused on coordinating with transportation partners to investigate ways to implement safer infrastructure with the goal of reducing bicycle related fatalities and injuries in Miami-Dade County and the Southeast Florida region.
The event went beyond traditional presentations. It brought together storytelling, global expertise, and policy dialogue to help better understand what works and how lessons can be applied. Through the films and panel discussions, participants heard from international leaders who have successfully transformed their transportation systems, creating environments where cycling is safe, accessible, and integrated into everyday life.
